2012 Recap

Mangahigh

OSC has been using Mangahigh in place of Everyday Math. Because we are now in Trimester 2, there are many new challenges to be beaten. So far, Recognizing Quadrilaterals has been a huge struggle for the students so the students who did know what they were doing started helping those who didn't. By the end of the trimester, most students were able to complete the face-melting challenge. As of right now, we are in 22nd place in North America.

Fai-To!

Up to right now, OSC has participated in four Fai-Tos. We are currently 3-1 against other schools. OSC has won against the following schools.

Waialae Public Charter School - USA

Flour Bluff Intermediate - USA

Balwyn High School -Australia

OSC lost it's only Fai-To to Hampton Academy -USA 

Prizes

OSC won a special prize for beating Balwyn High School. Teacher Mr. K. made a bet with our school that if we were to win against Balwyn High School, he would throw a pizza party in celebration of
beating a high school in Mangahigh.

OSC also won an ice cream party from Mr. Steinberg for finishing in the top 100 for medal points in North America in Mangahigh.
