Walk/Bike to School Day
The student government of OSC is teaming up with Activate Lodi to create a Walk/Bike to School Day on May 8th. It will be an event where students from OSC and Lodi Elementary School get off the bus at designated bus stops and walk to school. OSC government is hoping to get enough people to participate so that they can get a picture of everyone who walked or biked in a ring around the building. The event will only be a morning activity so everything will be back to normal after school. On May 8th, make sure you get active and get fit.

OSC Musical Recap
OSC had an amazing turnout for their musical last Friday. The festivities were going strong all the way from 5:00 to 9:00 o'clock PM. The musical itself was quite a success. Everyone was into it and there were barely any mistakes. There were several soloists that performed during the songs. Each of them did a very good job. The night wasn't close to over after the musical though. When the curtains closed, everyone bustled around looking at projects, getting something to eat, buying and using raffle tickets, and bidding for the silent auction. Many families walked home that night not only with a new prize from the raffle or auction but with the inspiration to do something respectful and nice. There will be pictures from the event coming soon!

One of the groups that is contributing to this vast effort is the Bake Sale group. The Bake Sale Group is going to set up a bake sale table at the Lodi High School here in Lodi, WI during an upcoming basketball game. The stand will be located right by the doors going in and out of the gymnasium. This group is hoping to raise about twenty dollars with the sale. They are planning on selling things like cookies, puppy chow, brownies, cupcakes and muffins. All of the baked goods will be put together by people from their group and their families. According to group members, they are going to be pricing the items at about 50¢ and up. All proceeds will go to the Lodi Food Pantry and Lodi Valley Personal Essentials. As a special experience, a member of this group will be attending a Lodi School District board meeting to get permission for having a fundraiser. See you at the sale!
One of the more interesting groups in this project is the skit group. The skit group put on a performance called The Spirit of the Helping Hands on Wednesday, December 19 at 10:30 AM in the Little Theater. Because their skit was only projected to be five minutes long, they performed at 15 minute intervals lasting until noon. They had a dress rehearsal early in the morning so that they can get ready for their big day. During their stage time, they performed for the Lodi Elementary School. On Thursday the 20th, they were going to be performing for OSC to finish off their project but a huge blizzard hit and school got canceled.
The skit group had been working together now for 2-3 weeks. There are 11 people in this group; all of which had a part. The last thing they were focused on was working out their props and timing for things like curtains and lights. The costumes that they used were from the costume room in the Little Theater and also from their own closets.
Two groups that travel together are the Caroling group and the Presentation group. The caroling group is a group of 7 girls that went to the Lodi Primary School and the Lodi City Hall to sing Christmas songs. The songs that they sang are shown below.
Jingle Bell Rock
Silent Night
Santa Claus is Coming to Town
We Wish You a Merry Christmas

The Presentation group went to the same places as the Caroling group. They presented two iMovies to each classroom they went to talking about what the Lodi Food Pantry and the Lodi Valley Personal Essentials needed and how they could donate. First, the Presentation group showed their two movies to the kids. After the movies were done, they left to go to their next classroom to present. Next, the carolers sang two songs and then told 7 facts about the Food Pantry and the Lodi Valley Personal Essentials. After both groups were finished at the Primary School, they all went to the Lodi City Hall so that they could drop off a drop box. The carolers sang three songs to the workers there.
